Welcome to the Red Robin classroom at Adventures in Learning! If your child turns four by September 2nd of the school year, our Transitional Kindergarten program is the perfect next step. Many experts consider TK to be one of the most critical years in a child’s education, and our curriculum is specifically designed to build the social, emotional, and academic skills they need to thrive.

PRE-K INFORMATION
At Adventures in Learning, we treat preschool as the important grade that it is. Our teachers are highly trained and experienced in providing the high-quality educational experiences your child needs at this age. Preschool is fundamental for setting your child up for success in kindergarten and all the years that follow. Adventures in Learning has crafted an enriching environment and a curriculum designed to help your preschooler thrive.
Dynamic, Center-Based Instruction
Our Red Robin classroom is built around active, hands-on learning. Each week features a new theme and a "Focus Skill," with learning centers designed to help children construct their own knowledge. This center-based approach encourages both independent work and collaborative problem-solving as children explore topics at their own pace. It's a powerful way to foster the cognitive skills and curiosity essential for growth, all while receiving guidance and encouragement from our experienced teachers.
Advanced Language & Literacy Skills
In Transitional Kindergarten, we build upon foundational knowledge to develop more advanced literacy skills. Our goal is to prepare children for the reading and writing demands of kindergarten. Key milestones in our TK classroom include:
- Identifying all upper and lowercase letters.
- Spelling and printing their first and last name.
- Producing rhyming words and memorizing songs.
- Understanding print direction and tracking words from left to right.
Building Mathematical Confidence
The jump in mathematical concepts during the TK year is substantial. Our teachers tailor lessons to meet your child at their level, making math fun and accessible. We move beyond basic counting to introduce more complex ideas and ensure a solid understanding of numbers. We work on:
- Counting from 1-30 and recognizing number order.
- Identifying geometric shapes and creating patterns.
- Understanding basic concepts of addition and subtraction using objects.
